Preparing for a drywall repair estimate

A drywall patch is most useful when the cause of the damage and the surrounding finish are understood. A few clear photos can make the first conversation easier.

Show context and detail

Take one photo of the full wall or ceiling and another close to the damaged area. Note the approximate size and any nearby trim, fixtures or corners.

Explain what happened

Tell us about impact damage, previous repairs or water problems. If moisture caused the issue, discuss whether the source has been addressed before closing the surface.

Clarify the final finish

Ask whether the quote includes texture, primer and paint, or only the drywall repair. Lighting and existing surface variation may affect the appearance of the finished area.

A simple way to get started

Send a wide photo of the wall or ceiling and a close-up of the damage. If water caused the problem, let us know whether the source has been addressed before the surface is repaired.
